“We enjoy each other’s success” – Bravo lauded their unswerving quality in 2023 Super50 Cup

Darren Bravo said his T&T Red Force team has been consistent and clinical during the preliminary round of the 2023 CG United Super50 Cup.

The 35-yar-old struck a career-best 139 not out as the home team beat Barbados Pride by 78 runs on Sunday night to finish top of the table at the end of the group stage of the tournament,

The T&T Red Force has won five of their seven games with the other two matches abandoned due to rain.

Speaking after the match, Bravo lauded his players for their unswerving quality during the tournament.

“We’ve been playing consistent cricket, we’ve been clinical, sometimes there’s been a hiccup here and there but that’s how the game goes sometimes,” Bravo told CWI Media.

“We’re playing as a team, everyone is happy for each and every member of the team’s success which is most important,” the Red Force skipper said after receiving his Player of the Match award.

Trinidad and Tobago will face fourth-placed Guyana Harpy Eagles in the first semifinal on 8 November.

Barbados finished third and will face second-placed Leeward Islands in the second semi-final next Thursday.

Captain Shai Hope urged a renewed focus on the semi-final ahead.

“Sometimes you have to give credit where it is due. I thought Darren played a very good innings today,” he said.

“We obviously could have bowled a little bit better, especially in the back end but there’s a few areas we can definitely clean up on. I think every total is gettable. As long as one opposition gets it, I think that we can chase down anything,” Hope added.
