The schedule for the upcoming season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2024) was announced on Wednesday (April 10). The 13th season of the tournament is scheduled to be played from August 29 to October 6.
Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will be taking on each other in the tournament opener. The first game of IPL 2024 is scheduled to be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. CPL 2024 will be the first season for Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the competition.
Earlier this year, it was announced that they will replace Jamaica Tallawahs in the squad. It means Antigua will have a team in the CPL for the first time since 2014.
In the first two CPL seasons, Antigua Hawksbills participated in the tournament before being replaced by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2015.
With the addition of the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, Antigua will be hosting CPL games for the first time in ten years. In another major development, the tournament will visit six host countries for the first time since 2019. The games will be played in Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.
CPL 2024 schedule:
A total of 34 games will be played in CPL 2024. Each of the six teams will be playing a total of 10 group matches. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs. The Eliminator between the third and fourth-placed teams will take place on October 1 while the first qualifier between the top two placed teams will take place on October 2.
The second qualifier will be taking place on October 4 while the final is scheduled to be played on October 6. All the playoffs matches and the final will be played at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
