The Cricket West Indies (CWI) men’s senior selection panel has named a 16-member squad for the five-match T20I series against India and the three-match fixture against New Zealand. but Left-arm fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell, who recovering from injury, hasn’t chance in the West Indies squad.
He’s been one of West Indies’ premier white-ball bowlers in recent years. While his brilliant athleticism in the field too, adds to his cricket credentials, Cottrell has produced magical moments with the bat more than once to seal a win for his side.
West Indies fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell has said that the West Indies legend Chris Gayle, Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma and Indian former captain Virat Kohli will be part of his dream hat-trick.
1. Universe Boss Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle is arguably the most dangerous batsman in the world. He has scored 14321 runs in his Twenty20 cricket career. It is the highest score by a batsman in the Twenty20 format. He has also scored 19593 runs in his international cricket career.
2. Rohit Sharma
Rohit is one of the most prolific openers in the Indian team. He is currently the captain of the white ball. He has scored over 15,000 international runs and it is a great relief to the opposition that his innings is coming to an end soon.
3. Virat Kohli
Cottrell’s third was Virat Kohli, the red ball captain of the Indian team. Kohli is another great player who was born in Indian cricket. He alone has a reputation for being a player who can turn a match to his team’s advantage. Kohli has scored 23197 runs in international cricket.
He said this while participating in a program called 25 Questions on the ESPNcricinfo website. Cottrell was asked which three batters will be part of his dream hat-trick to which he named Rohit, Kohli and Gayle.
Although, this is not practically possible that Cottrell can dismiss the three above-mentioned batters to bag a hat-trick because they don’t play together in the Indian Premier League.
However, still, it would have been a great sight to watch Cottrell do his big salute celebration after dismissing Gayle, Rohit, Kohli and completing his hat-trick.
“Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma and then Virat Kohli. Kohli as the third wicket would be like the dream hat-trick,’ Cottrell said during the ’25 Question Series’. he said
