The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) have officially announced the list of player retentions and signings of the local players for the 2022 season in few days ago. the 10th edition of the CPL is scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 30.
Ahead of the season, all six teams have announced their retentions, and they have signed some players as well ahead of the draft.

Accordingly, The Jamaica Tallawahs have not only retained their skipper Rovman Powell but have also trusted the abilities of the promising batting duo of last season’s top scorers Kenner Lewis Kennar Lewis and Shamarh Brooks. while the newly signed players were Fabian Allen and Brendan King.
In an interview with Talawas CEO Jeff Miller told Sport Max that former captain Rowman Powell will see a different side this year. Powell also said he would work more closely with a new coaching staff led by Shivanrin Chanderpaul.
“I think we will see a different side of him (powell) this year. I think that Chanderpaul along with the assistant coaches has expressed that to Rovman.”
He further stated that several special meetings are being held at present.
“We have been having some great meetings and I think this year we will see that all-inclusive where the player, as the captain, is involved in all aspects of team management, selection, etcetera.”
Miller believes Brendan’s top order with Kenner will lead to some interesting games.
“Brandon is another dynamic player and we believe that having Brandon at the top of the order with Kennar will produce some exciting games, and Brandon also wanted to come home and we gave him that opportunity to play for the Tallawahs and express himself and we know how Brandon can express himself. “
Miller also spoke with great confidence about the team, saying they have a staff of dream team support.
“I am confident about the team. Look, we have a dream team support staff – Chanderpaul, Sir Curtly Ambrose, we have Andre Coley. We have an announcement to make in the coming days pertaining to our manager and that will really cement our support staff. “
