The 2nd ODI of the Bangladesh Tour of West Indies, 2022 will take place on the 13th of July 2022 between West Indies and Bangladesh at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
The Tamim Iqbal-led side have beaten the hosts West Indies in the 1st ODI by six wickets and have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. the hosts would be looking for a comeback.
It was the batting that let the Nicholas Pooran-led side down in the first ODI. The aggressive batting approach backfired on the hosts as they could score only 149.
Barring Shamrah Brooks, no batter showed application. Skipper Pooran would be hoping the batters much batter in the second and decider ODI.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. The game was reduced to 41 overs a side due to rain.
West Indies lost Shai Hope early on followed by the huge wicket of Kyle Mayers. The middle order couldn’t do much damage and kept losing their wickets at important moments. Shamarh Brooks fought well with his knock of 33 in 66 balls.
The West Indies innings never really took off as they lost too many wickets in the middle overs.
Had it not been about the 10th wicket partnership of 39 runs between Jayden Seales and Anderson Phillip, West Indies were staring down at a total less than 120.
Eventually, they managed to get 149 for 9 in 41 overs.
During the chase, West Indies managed to remove the opener Liton Das cheaply.
Post that, Tamim Iqbal and Nazmul Hossain Shanto played really well and took their team out of troubled waters.
Shanto made 37, while Tamim Iqbal scored 33 off just 25 balls. Mahmudullah played a skipper’s knock at number 4 and scored 41 not out to take his team home in the 32nd over with 6 wickets in hand.
