SA20 League Auction: Here are the 9 West Indies players who will represent the inaugural SA20 League

The first players’ auction for the inaugural edition of South Africa’s SA20 League took place on Monday. Accordingly, South African batter Tristan Stubbs was the highest-priced player at the auction, selling for R9.2M (USD 542762.29). and South Africa captains Dean Elgar and Temba Bavuma going unsold.

The SA20 format is slated to be held in January-February 2023, with six teams playing in the inaugural edition of the tournament namely MI Cape Town, Durban Super Giants, Johannesburg Super Kings, Pearl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Also, this tournament will spread across the six cities that represent these franchises, namely Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Paarl, Pretoria, and Gqeberha.314 players went under the hammer in the first auction of the inaugural edition of South Africa’s SA 20 League, which had 533 players listed.

Accordingly, Ther are nine West Indies players will play for the inaugural season of SA20, and the young player Rammon Simmond was also there. Players like fast bowler Alsari Joseph and all-rounder Odean Smith fetched very high prices in the auction.
