“I’m now looking to make West Indies Proud”- Johnson Charles on West Indies Comeback

St Lucia Kings Were placed at the 4th spot in the Men’s Caribbean Premier League 2022.  They have lost to JT in Playoffs round.

Johnson Charles is the third run-scorer for CPL 2022 with 342 runs at a strike rate of 135. He has struck 19 sixes and 28 fours.

“We’re still looking right now. I think we are in few to go, so we’re just looking to pick up the momentum. We picked it up from st Lucia, we’re just looking to continue” Charles said to media

Now Johnson Charles is back in the Westindies colours after the cricket Westindies selection panel this Last Week announced the West Indies Squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled to bowl off from Oct 16th to November 13th 2022 in Australia.

“feels good you know after six years out to set up. I really hard to go back to the basics and work on my game. So now I feel great redemption. So I feel good about it and I’m just looking to make a West Indies Proud.” Charles said at a post-match press conference on last Sunday.

The West Indies are the only team to have won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup twice, in Sri Lanka in 2012 and in India in 2016, both times with Charles part of the team.

West Indies take on Scotland in first of three Group B fixtures played at the Bellerive Oval, in Hobart, Tasmania to qualify for the Super 12 phase of the tournament.

Nicholas Pooran leads the West Indies in his first World Cup as captain, with Rovman Powell as vice-captain.
