Brandon King to be named Windies vice captain for limited overs series against England – Check Full Details Here!

According to the Radiojamaicanewsonline, Brandon King will be named as vice-captain of the West Indies One Day International squad for the upcoming limited overs series against England in the Caribbean.

King is set to replace fast bowler Alzzari Joseph as deputy to captain Shai Hope.

Meanwhile, pacer Shamar Joseph who missed the last One Day International against Sri Lanka, is expected to be included in the squad to face the English.

Joseph who played all three T20 internationals against the Sri Lanka, missed the first two ODI’s before returning to the Caribbean a day before the final game due to personal reasons. There’s also a return for Guyanese left-hander Shimron Hetmyer who will replace Alick Athanaze.

Athanaze struggled in the first two ODI’s against Sri Lanka with scores of 10 and 1 before he was replaced by Evin Lewis who played a match winning innings of 102 not out, as the Windies lost the series 2-1.

The English will tour the Caribbean for three ODI’s and five T20’s with the first game in the series being a 50 over encounter on Thursday in Antigua.
