CPL 2023; Top 5 current cricketers and records they created in CPL History

The 11th edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) began on August 17 and the final of the tournament will be played on September 25.

A total of six teams will participate in this tournament which are Trinbago Knight Riders, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, Barbados Royals, and St Lucia Kings.

There are many records set by different players who are still playing the game so far.

The players who have created a record in CPL are Colin Munro, Jason Holder, Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine, and Andre Russell. Munro is the highest runs scorer among current players who are playing in the CPL. He scored 567 runs for Trinbago Knight Riders in 2018.

Jason Holder holds the record of taking the most wickets in the powerplay in CPL. He has snapped a total of 35 wickets in the powerplay. The West Indian opener, Evin Lewis holds the record for hitting most sixes in a particular CPL season. He slammed a total of 38 sixes back in 2011. The last name on the list is Andre Russell. He has a record of slamming the fastest fifty in the history of CPL. He scored a fifty in only 14 balls.

1. Colin Munro

Most runs in a CPL Season (567), he is the first and only player in CPL to cross 500 runs in a single season. He scored 567 runs for Trinbago Knight Riders in 2018.

2. Jason Holder

Holds the record for Most wickets taken by a bowler in Powerplay in CPL (35).

3. Evin Lewis

Holds the record for most sixes in a CPL season (38 in 2021).

4. Sunil Narine

Holds the record for bowling the first-ever maiden in Super Over in both T20s and CPL, he did that against Trinidad &Tobago Red Steels.

5. Andre Russell

Holds the record for the fastest fifty scored by a batter in CPL, he score a 14-ball fifty in a game between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Kings in 2021.
