India and West Indies go head to head in the third and final ODI in Trinidad on July 27.
West Indies have already lost the series losing the first two games and will be looking to avoid the whitewash.
Both teams then play a five-match T20I series with the first game starting on July 29.
India defeated West Indies by 2 wickets in the 2nd ODI to 3-match ODI series at Port of Spain. This was another closely contested game, where the Indian team won the game at the end. Axar Patel emerged as the hero for the Indian team with the bat.
Chasing the target of 312 runs, Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer scored half-centuries, but the team needed that push from Axar at the end. Patel scored 64 runs in just 35 balls at a strike rate of 182.86, and he also smashed the winning six at the end to seal the match for the side.
Speaking to 3rd match pre-match press conference against India, West Indies white-ball Captain Nicholas Pooran confirmed Shimron Hetmyer passed his fitness test on Tuesday morning.
“Very soon. I think he passed his fitness test this morning. That is wonderful news, so we expect to see him back as soon as possible. I can’t tell you exactly when, because I am not sure, but, as soon as we can get him on the field.” Pooran said
“With him passing the fitness test, he is up for selection. I am happy that he came and put in the work. That says a lot about him as well. Looking forward for him to be up for selection, and hope he can do well for West Indies, and continue to put smiles on people’s faces and entertain,” West Indies captain further added.

“Keemo Paul is fit now. He has recovered from his hamstring strain, so I think he is fit for play.” Additionally, Jason Holder is free from Covid-19 and is set to return for the final ODI against India starting Wednesday, July 27 at Queen’s Park Oval Stadium in Trinidad.
