Among them, Four-time IPL Champions Chennai SuperKings have decided to let go of West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo ahead of the mini-auction for next year’s season.
Bravo was brought back to the CSK during the mega-auction ahead of the 2022 season after some intense bidding that saw Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad show interest in the former West Indies all-rounder.
Ultimately, Chennai won the bid for 4.4 Cr rupees. Bravo played 10 matches for CSK last season and picked up 16 wickets as the four-time IPL Champions finished ninth on the table, ahead of Mumbai Indians.
Throughout his IPL career, Bravo has played in 161 matches and picked up 183 wickets during that time frame. He has also been handy with the bat, as he has scored 1560 runs with the highest score of 70 not out.
While Sunrisers Hyderabad released West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd ahead of the IPL mini-auction.
Pooran weren’t at his very best in IPL 2022. He scored 306 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 144.44 and an average of 38.25.
Also Punjab Kings’ Odean Smith, Gujarat Titans’ Dominic Drakes, Lucknow Super Giants’s Evin Lewis and Jason Holder, Mumbai’s Kieron Pollard, Fabian Allen, and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Sherfane Rutherford are among the big names released from the teams they played for in the 2022 IPL season.
Among the retentions for West Indies players are Sunil Narine and Andre Russell (KKR), Rovman Powell (DC), Alzarri Joseph (GT), Shimron Hetmyer (RR), Obed McCoy and Kyle Mayers (LSG).
Tuesday is the last date to announce the full list of players retained and released by the teams ahead of the mini-auction, scheduled to be held on December 23 in Kochi.
