Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) are set to lock horns with Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) in match 25 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022.
Guyana Amazon Warriors’ head coach, Rayon Griffith has underscored the significance of the team’s final four matches as they begin their home leg against Jamaica Tallawahs tonight.
With eight points, the Tallawahs sit third on the standings and still have a chance to make the playoffs. With just three points, the Warriors are at the very bottom of the standings and are eliminated.
Griffith, yesterday said, “We have to stay on the positive side, we know if you slip, you could go, we are keeping together and trying to motivate them and keep them in high spirits.”
The Warriors returned home with three points after registering one win and a no result after six matches in the Caribbean Premier League so far.
Griffith has said Captain Shimron Hetmyer has been growing on the job.
“Hetmyer is growing. From since game one, especially around the players and myself, we are having a better communication, and he is learning. I believe he is going to get better, and he has been doing his job in terms of captaincy,” Griffith explained.
