Jamaican Scorpions have named their 16-man squad for the West Indies Cricket CG United Super50 Trophy, which starts later this month.
The regional cricket competition will return on October 29, while the Caribbean 50-over cricket rivalry will be contested for the first time since February 2021.
This year’s Super50 Cup will feature six franchises including Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, Barbados Pride, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Jamaica Scorpions, Guyana Jaguars, Windward Islands Volcanoes and Leeward Islands Hurricanes.
They will be played by West Indies Academy and Joint Campus and Colleges in Antigua and Trinidad from October 29 to November 19. Accordingly, the Jamaica Cricket Association named the regional Super 50 squad for that.
The Jamaican Scorpions will play regional teams T&T Red Force, Windward Volcanoes, Leeward Hurricanes and Barbados Pride in Antigua. The Scorpions are scheduled to arrive in Antigua on October 27 for the series which will run until November 19, 2022.
The Scorpions squad will be captained by Jermaine Blackwood with Rowman Powell as vice-captain. In addition, Brandon King, Odion Smith, and Sheldon Cottrell are players with international experience. Also, The head coach of the team is Andrew Richardson and the assistant coach is Nikita Miller.

The tournament will be a great opportunity for the West Indies coaches and selectors to consider and select the West Indies ODI squad for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup and will be a great opportunity for the West Indies players.
