West Indies player Rahkeem Cornwall has been appointed captain of the Leeward Islands Hurricanes for the 2024 edition of the CG United Super50 Cup.
Barbadian Justin Greaves is the vice-captain, while Hayden Walsh Jr. and Jewel Andrew are set to join the team after the West Indies tour of Sri Lanka.
Steve Liburd will take the helm in his first competition as Leeward Islands Hurricanes head coach, while Wilden Cornwall is assistant coach and manager of the team.
The Leeward Islands lost to Trinidad and Tobago in the final of the 2023 tournament, their first Super50 final since 2019.
Alzarri Joseph, who led the Leeward Islands in 2023, is on international duty.
The Leeward Islands last won the title in October 2010, when they shared the title with Barbados after a tied match.
