Durban Super Giants struck early to dismiss Dewald Brevis and Ryan Rickelton to shock their opposition. MI Cape Town will lock horns with Durban Super Giants on Friday, 13 January.
Both teams have played their opening game of the season.
Durban’s Super Giants won the toss and chose to bat first in their Betway SA20 clash against the Mumbai Indians Cape Town at Newlands on Friday evening.
The hosts enjoyed a superb start to the competition with a bonus point win in the tournament opener against the Paarl Royals on Tuesday, and they will be eager to continue that good start against the Super Giants.
The visitors lost their opening game against the Joburg Super Kings on Wednesday and they will be looking to bounce back in what should be an entertaining match.
Durban Super Giants are on top after triggering a batting collapse on MI Cape Town. Top batters Dewald Brevis, Ryan Rickelron, and Sam Curran all fell cheaply.
In the Second ball of the MI Cape Town innings Mayers knocks Brevis over with an absolute beauty! Searing yorker that starts well outside off stump before boomeranging back into the batter. Brevis has no clue about it and is late on the stroke too. The ball sneaks underneath the bat and flattens middle and off stump! Just the start the Super Giants were after! 0/1
