Comilla Victorians beat Chattogram Challengers by 07 wickets to reach their third BPL final.
West Indies’ Sunil Narine scores the fastest half-century in BPL history. He hit four fours and four sixes in his 13-ball 50.
Chattogram Challengers scored 148 runs in 19.1 overs. Hasan and Akbar Ali took the Challengers to a respectable position after losing five wickets for 50 runs. They both scored 44 and 33 points, respectively.
Moeen Ali took 03 wickets for 20 runs and Shoidul Islam took 03 wickets for 33 runs.
Lytton Das was the first wicket-taker for the Victorians as they chased down a 149-run target. Later, West Indies’ Narine helped the Victorians to a 79-run lead in the power play.
However, Narine was dismissed in the sixth over for 57 off 16 balls as the Challengers lost.
Narine added 79 runs in just 5.3 overs with Imrul Kayes for the second wicket, before Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali bashed the remaining 54 runs in their unbroken fourth-wicket stand.
Chattogram would however be proud of reaching the second qualifier after losing the plot midway through the tournament.
Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali put on an unbeaten 54 for the fourth wicket in 12.5 overs. Moeen Ali hit three fours and two sixes in the 13 balls he faced.
Sunil Narine , who scored 57 off 16 balls, was named man of the match. Thus qualifying for the final between Comilla Victorians and Fortune Barishal, played by Gayle and Bravo.
Will Jacks finishes the tournament as the highest run-getter, having reached 414 runs to go past Andre Fletcher’s 410 runs.
