WI-A vs BN-A, 3rd Day Highlights: Tagenarine Chanderpaul keep West Indies A alive in second 4-day ‘Test’

By the end of the third day of the unofficial second four-day match between West Indies A and Bangladesh A, Bangladesh A had the upper hand.

After winning the toss at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, West Indies A invited the visitors to bat first and they scored 300 runs for 9 wickets in their first innings.

On the first day of the match, only 34 overs were played on the first day due to disruption by rain. There the visitors scored 69 runs with the loss of one wicket and Shadman Islam scored 22 runs not out and Saif Hassan scored 23 runs not out.

However, the start of the match was delayed due to the wet condition of rain hampering the second day at the Sammy Stadium and only 50 overs had to be played on the second day. Accordingly, when the visitors finished the second day, they scored 157 runs with the loss of 05 wickets.

The innings were declared when the Bangladesh A players scored 300 runs for the loss of 09 wickets on the third day. Accordingly, Saif Hassan played an excellent inning and scored 146 runs, becoming the anchor of the innings. Apart from that, Jaker Ali contributed with 33 runs and Shadman Islam with 25 runs.

For West Indies A, Anderson Philip and Colin Archibald took three wickets each, Yannic Cariah took two wickets and Marquino Mindley took one wicket.

West Indies A got off to a poor start in the reply innings, with Jeremy Solonzo out for 10 and Keacy Carty out before scoring.

However, two experienced players, Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Joshua Da Silva, are staying at the Wicket. Tagenarine Chanderpaul was building some consistency with 21 off 57 balls while Da Silva was 12 off 21 balls.

The fourth day of the match will be played today and West Indies A are trailing by 257 runs and the result of the match is in the hands of Chanderpaul and Da Silva.
