The Windies opening pair of Hope and Kyle Mayers (39 off 23) yet again got their team off to a decent enough start, as the duo stitched together a 65-run stand in 55 deliveries.
Hope, who had a streak of low scores under his belt in the previous few ODIs, batted with grit and caution, as he brought up his 21st fifty in the format off 69 deliveries.
Then captain Nicholas Pooran and Shai Hope got together and build a partnership that benefitted the West Indies most. The duo added 117 runs in 126 balls for the 4th wicket before Pooran fell.
Shai Hope raced to his century soon after Shardul Thakur dismissed Nicholas Pooran.
Shai Hope entered the rare list of batters to hit a century in their 100th ODI appearance during the second ODI against India on Sunday.
Hope became the 10th batter and fourth West Indian to reach the mark in men’s ODIs.

West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the game.
The guests eye series win today as they are already 1-0 up after edging out the West Indies by three runs in the first ODI at the same venue on Friday. West Indies, on the other hand, look to take the series to the decider.
Although the Nicolas Pooran-led side put up a good fight against Shikhar Dhawan and company in the first ODI, they fell just short.
