“I’m going to hit the ball close to the 130-meter mark.” Rovman Powell thinks he can hit the longest six in the IPL

Delhi Capital beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 21 runs in the 2022 IPL. Chasing a target of 208, SRH could score only 186 runs for the loss of 08 wickets in 20 overs.

Batting first, Delhi Capital scored 207 runs for the loss of 03 wickets in 20 overs. Opening batsman David Warner scored 92 off 58 balls. Rovman Powell, who joined Warner, hit a quickfire 67 off 35 balls with six sixes and three fours.

The Jamaican cricketer has been acquired by Delhi Capital management for US $ 373k for the IPL 2022 edition. However, the management showed confidence in his abilities and it was a dividend-earning decision.

At a press conference yesterday, Powell revealed a conversation he had with leader Pant. There he said he had made a request to play No. 5.

“I had a conversation with Pant a few days back in the hotel room, he asked me where I wanted to bat, I just asked him to have trust in me. wanted to bat at number 5 since over the last year I’ve been batting there. I have improved my game against the spinners as well as the pacers, want to give myself a chance, play some 10-15 balls and then play the shots.”

Also in yesterday’s match, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell and Aiden Markram hit several big sixes. Its distances were 108 M, 104M and 103 M, respectively.

Rovman powell said that he can pass Liam Livingstone’s 117 meters and hit about 130 meters.

“I think I can break the 117-meter mark. I told Mandeep yesterday that I am going to hit the ball close to the 130-meter mark. Let’s see how it goes.”

He also talked about the important aspects of hitting big sixes.

“The key is to not try and overhit the ball. Once you get into good positions, once you get a good base, it’s just about the core. My core is strong and then, on good wickets, I can swing through the line, hit the ball across the line and swing like a golfer.”

He added this too.

“That’s basically what I do. I give myself a chance and use the depth of the crease so that I can get under the balls when they try to bowl full.”
