CPL 2024, Qualifier 1, GUY vs SLK, Possible Playing XI: Amazon Warriors eye for second CPL title as they take on ST Lucia Kings

Guyana Amazon Warriors will face Saint Lucia Kings in the first qualifier of the Caribbean Premier League 2024 on Thursday, October 3, at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Both teams have faced each other on 23 occasions. The Amazon Warriors have won 15 out of these 23 games, while the Kings have won the remaining eight matches. The Amazon Warriors have won four out of their last five outings against the Kings.

The Amazon Warriors took on Trinbago Knight Riders in their last outing. The Knight Riders won the match by 74 runs after posting a total of 211 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Shamar Joseph was the pick of the bowlers for the Amazon Warriors and picked three wickets for 50 runs in four overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the highest scorer for the Amazon Warriors and made 36 runs off 22 deliveries.

The Kings’ last outing was against the Amazon Warriors only, where the Amazon Warriors elected to bat after winning the toss. They posted a total of 207 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

David Wiese took three wickets for 43 runs in four overs for the Kings. Faf du Plessis led the batting attack of the Kings with his unbeaten knock of 92 runs off 59 deliveries.

No other batter managed to cross the 25-run mark for the team. The Kings made 172 runs for the loss of seven wickets and lost the match by 35 runs.
