Members of the Guyana Amazon Warriors team are on their way to St Kitts and Nevis for the start of The 6IXTY and the 2022 Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Pictures and videos of team members heading off to St Kitts have been published on the Guyana Amazon Warriors social media pages.

In one post on Guyana amazon Warriors’ Facebook page, players Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Jermaine Blackwood, Odean Smith, Colin Ingram, Keemo Paul, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Gudakesh Motie, Veerasammy Permaul, Matthew Nandu few pictured after arrived.

it’s hard to imagine the Warriors not making reaching the latter stages of the tournament having reached the final five times.

However, such is their previous record at the sharp end of the competition they’ll only be content if the campaigns ends with a maiden title.

This year, Shimron Hetmyer, an explosive left-hander, has been named team captain for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League

Hetmyer said, “I’m really happy to be appointed captain of my country franchise, I’m excited to lead this group of men! I can’t wait for the CPL to begin,” after being appointed as the captain.

Head Coach of the franchise, Rayon Griffith, welcomed Hetmyer’s appointment and said that he was pleased to see him get the chance to lead a senior franchise.

“We are pleased to appoint our first Guyanese captain since the 2013 season. Hetmyer has been the main part of our setup over the years and we believe the time is right to have him lead the team,” said Dr. Bobby Ramroop, Chairman of the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors women’s team will be playing in the inaugural edition of the Women’s CPL in 2022.

The Hero CPL runs from31 August to 30 September, while the Women’s CPL runs from 31 August to 4 September in St Kitts.

In 1st edition of The 6IXTY runs from 24-28 August 2022.
