The first T20 match of the three-match series between the West Indies and India is scheduled to start on the 16th. The second match will be played on February 18 and the third on February 20 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata

The West Indies lost the ODI series 3-0 to India, Critics point out that the main reason is the poor playing style of the West Indies batsmen. The poor batting of the senior batsmen was something that seen throughout the ODI series.

However, the West Indies defeat in the ODI series against Ireland and then won the T20 series against England 3-2. Accordingly, the West Indies will enter the Indian Twenty20 tournament with a mental level of victory.

The West Indies bowlers also bowled well in the England series. Former skipper Jason Holder took four wickets in a row in the final match. Rowman Powell scored a century in the 3rd match against England.

Overall the West Indies bowler was in a very good position. But the batsmen were at a somewhat lower level. Head coach Phil Simmons said, “We are a little bit ahead with our batting assessments in T20s than we are in ODIs.”
