IPL 2022 KKR vs DC Highlights: Rovman Powell guides Delhi Capitals To 4 Wicket Win

Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by four wickets in Match 41 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Rovman Powell hit the match-winning six and smacked an unbeaten knock of 33 runs off 16 balls.

“[On the last over] From the start, we were trying to finish it in the first three balls of the over given that Shreyas was a part-timer. That is what I told Shardul, but then I had to do it myself. Just that kind of a wicket that would take 5-7 balls to settle on. I trusted the wicket and trusted myself. We thought their score was short.” says Powell

“At the halfway stage, we thought we could keep the momentum if we didn’t lose too many wickets in the powerplay. My start in the competition wasn’t the best, but I trust all the work I had done before the IPL. It is a feel-good factor now. A lot of the bases have been covered. It is a very good team, and whatever team Ricky and Co. put on the park, has been very competitive.”  he added

Earlier, KKR posted 146 for nine in 20 overs, With the exception of skipper Shreyas Iyer (42), the KKR top-order struggled to get going against the Capitals’ bowlers at the Wankhede Stadium.

“The preparation has been excellent. I think everyone knows how important these last couple of games are and we are ready.

“The guys are hitting the ball well and getting what they want before such a big game. I am ready and pumped and definitely want to leave everything out there tonight..

Things have been going well so far, can’t complain, over 200 runs and a couple of wickets under my belt.

I think I want to contribute a bit more with the ball but with the makeup of this team I am not going to question or beg the captain, he has been excellent and making the right changes. I know my job is to take the team over the line or help the team set up the total.”  Andre Russell says before the Match
