Kieron Pollard skips PSL game to attend Mumbai Indians’ owners sons Anant Ambani’s wedding

Legendary West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard was among the long list of star cricketers to attend his Mumbai Indians’ owners Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s son Anant’s pre-wedding festivities.

Pollard was spotted at the event along with his former West Indies teammates Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo.

Notably, Pollard skipped his Pakistan Super League commitments for Karachi Kings to be a part of the event. The Kings will be missing his services during their clash against Multan Sultans on Sunday, March 03. The all-rounder is the leading run-scorer for Karachi this season, with 196 runs to his name in five innings at a strike rate of 161.98.

The 36-year-old will rejoin the squad on March 4 ahead of their next fixture against Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi on March 6. Notably, the Trinidad-born cricketer is ranked among the legends of Indian Premier League (IPL) having played for Mumbai Indians for 13 years and was a part of all of their five IPL triumphs.

After bidding adieu to his IPL career ahead of IPL 2023, he was appointed as the batting coach of Mumbai Indians. However, following his IPL retirement, he continues to represent the MI franchise in foreign T20 Leagues namely MI Cape Town in SA20, MI Emirates in ILT20 and MI New York in Major League Cricket.

International and India cricketers light up the Ambani’s wedding

Meanwhile, apart from Pollard, several notable Indian and international cricketers were also spotted at the pre-wedding

festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar. Ambani family’s long list of guests include India captain Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, legendary India cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni.

Among international cricketers, New Zealand left-arm seamer Trent Boult, who recently plays for MI New York and MI Emirates and Australia batter Tim David also marked his presence.

The grand occasion was also lit up by a glittering performance of international pop star Rihanna who sang her major hits and even grooved to Bollywood dance numbers during the star-studded event.
