Match Highlights; Chanderpaul’s XI beat Permaul’ XI at Providence in the first Guyana Harpy Eagles practice match

The Guyana Cricket Association has scheduled two four-day practice matches for the Guyana Harpy Eagles to prepare for the regional four-day season starting on February 1st.

According to the announcement issued by the ‘Guyana Cricket Board’, the two teams identified by their senior national selection panel chaired by Ravindranath Seeram were selected to participate in the first match.

Accordingly, the two playing teams have been named as Veerasammy Permaul XI and Tagenarine Chanderpaul XI, Savary hit the headlines with a glorious 170 on the second day of this practice match for Harpy Eagles.

Kemol Savory has answered the call of the Guyana Harpy Eagles’ management of converting starts as he smashed an excellent 170 that should greatly enhance his chances of a maiden First-Class debut.

His stunning 192-ball knock, studded with 17 fours and 5 sixes, left Tagenarine’s Chanderpaul XI at a healthy 378-6 at the end of the second day of their four-day practice match at the National Stadium in Providence.

Weerasammy Parmaul XI made their first innings 261 all out in 86 overs with Mathew Nandu 78, Shamar Yearwood 36, Ronaldo Alimohamed 34, Tevin Imlach 33, Shamar Goodke 30 each and Joseph Goodke 4-30 Adams 1-15.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s XI made 378-6 in 87 overs on the second day, with Kevin Sinclair not out on 40 to remain at the wicket.

However, on the third day of the four-day match at Providence, Chandrapaul’s XI were restricted to 98.1 overs in the first innings and were all out for 429. Kemol Savory 170, Tagenarine Chanderpaul 52, Kevin Sinclair 40. Ronsford Beaton 4-84.

Accordingly, Chandrapaul’s XI team won by 9 wickets in the first four-day practice match against Guyana Harpy Eagles. They managed to restrict Permaul’s XI to 186 in 53 overs in the second innings. Kevlon Anderson 40, Matthew Mandu 24. Shamar Joseph 2-17, Kevin Sinclair 2-20.

Chasing an easy target, Chandrapaul’s XI managed to finish the four-day match on the third day by scoring 22 runs for the loss of just one wicket.
