“Never the star student in my class” – New attorney Pranita Seeraj says she was never a ‘star’ student

Raised by a single mother, East Coast girl Pranitha Seeraj has a message about what she was able to accomplish. She persevered and is now a lawyer.

Attorney General Anil Nandlall presented her practical request before Mr. Justice Gino Persaud at the High Court.

Seeraj, 24, completed her LLB and Diploma in Public Management from the University of Guyana.

She was also elected president of the Hugh Woodin Law Student Association. Seeraj graduated from law school on September 16, 2022.

She is the first member of her family to have accomplished academic heights of this magnitude and is now attached at the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions. According to the AG, Seeraj has been deemed to be “well performing” by the office.

“I am privileged to be admitted to the bar. I intend to serve the Cooperative Republic of Guyana with great integrity.”

“The journey to my accomplishments has not been easy. I was never the star student in my class, yet despite not attaining any of the top schools or all CSEC distinctions, I have accomplished a successful tertiary education,” Seeraj said in her acceptance speech.
