The Pakistan Super League (PSL) announced on Sunday that West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie has officially signed up for the player draft for the league’s much-anticipated 10th edition.
The announcement was made on social media platforms with a banner shared alongside a caption that stated, “The spinning maestro from the West Indies, Gudakesh Motie, enters the HBL PSL Draft.”
Motie, a seasoned campaigner in T20 cricket, has represented the West Indies in 29 T20 Internationals, claiming 31 wickets.
In franchise cricket, the 29-year-old has so far been a part of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), representing the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
In 41 CPL matches, the spinner has taken 46 wickets at an average of 21.36 and an economy of 7.20.
Notably, Motie is the 18th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft, which will take place in Balochistan for the first time. Gwadar will host the landmark event on January 11, 2025.
The pick order for the player draft has also been announced, with two-time champions Lahore Qalandars making the first pick in the opening round of the platinum category, followed by arch-rivals Karachi Kings.
2019 champions Quetta Gladiators will make the third pick, while Peshawar Zalmi will have the fourth.
Last season’s runners-up, Sultans, and reigning champions United will make the fifth and sixth picks, respectively.
