TKR vs STKNP, Match Highlights; Sherfane Rutherford’s 14 balls half-century goes in vain as TKR beat St Kitts 3 Runs

Sherfane Rutherford’s cameo was vain as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to their second defeat of the Men’s Sixty here yesterday.

With the hosts chasing 155 at Warner Park, Rutherford arrived at number five and smashed 50 in only 15 balls, which included seven sixes to put his side closer to the line against TKR.

Andre Fletcher had earlier struck 33 off 15 balls, inspiring a 35-run third-wicket stand with veteran Chris Gayle who managed only 19 from unbeaten 16 balls.

Drakes scored an unbeaten 33 in 10 balls as Patriots finished on 152/4 after the 10 overs.

Pacer Anderson Phillip suffered but finished with two for 36 from his two overs.

Pace bowler Anderson Phillip claimed three for 17, wickets, those of openers E Lewis and ADS Fletcher, and South African youngster D Brevis.

Batting first, the Knight Riders were boosted by 22 off 13 balls by Tim Seifert and 22 off 10 balls by Tion Webster before Andre Russell got going.

Andre Russell was top-scoring with 72 from 24 deliveries, including one four and eight sixes. bringing up his fifty off only 17 balls and Seekkuge Prasanna (19 off 5 balls) saw the Knight Riders post 155 for 5 in their 10 overs.

The Trinbago Knight Riders edged St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by three runs in a high-scoring thriller that saw both teams qualify for the semi-finals of The Men’s 6IXTY.

The result meant that the St Lucia Kings and the Guyana Amazon Warriors were eliminated from the tournament.

The Jamaica Tallawahs will face the Patriots in the first semi-final on Sunday at 10 am, while the Knight Riders will take on the Barbados Royals in the second semi at 12:30 pm.

The Women’s 6IXTY final between the Trinbago Knight Riders and the Barbados Royals is on at 3:00 pm.

The Men’s 6IXTY final is on from 5:30 pm on Sunday at Warner Park.
