West Indies would be happier of the two sides at the end of the day’s play and would feel that they have their head slightly ahead.
However, they have to bat last on this wicket and a target of anywhere around 150 isn’t going to be easy for West Indies.
They were not able to capitalize on the start that they got and lost wickets in clusters in the second session. Kyle Mayers played a handy innings at the end and the visitors managed to get a lead of 49 runs.
The Windies came out with intent as they were top-notch in the field. The spinners kept things tight and it resulted in a couple of run outs which put them in the driver’s seat.
They would look to strike early on Day 4 and make sure that the Lankans do not run away with the lead.
