Saint Lucia Kings have thrashed St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by 49 runs in a CPL 2022 match.
John Charles with 41-64 and David Wiese with 3/8 were the stars for SLK. Sent to bat, Faf Du Plessis & Co made the most of the conditions.
A flying start from Du Plessis and Charles powered Kings to 48 in just 4.4 overs. In the end, some decent knocks helped SLK post 189/7.
Faf du Plessis who got the Saint Lucia Kings off to a dominating start by scoring boundaries throughout the opening overs.
Charles, meanwhile, had got his eye in and went on to play a measured anchor’s innings getting 61 off 41 even as the scoring rate was upped at the other end.
Charles first and later David Wiese laid into Rashid Khan as well, as the spinner ended up conceding 45.
Even though he managed to prise out Charles, his expensive figures offset Dwayne Bravo’s 2-26 at the death.

Wiese was the stand-out bowler for the Kings, taking three wickets for just 8 runs As the Patriots lost more wickets, Kesrick Williams proving a threat with the ball, they were unable to keep up with the required run rate and were bowled out for 140, losing by 49 runs.
