The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 ended on September 24, with Guyana Amazon Warriors emerging as the champions. The Guyana-based team played exceptionally well throughout the tournament and defeated Trinbago Knight Riders in the event’s final.

The much-awaited summit clash took place at the Providence Stadium and saw Guyana bundle out Trinbago for a mere 94-run total. Dwaine Pretorius shined with the ball for his team and bagged four wickets. Meanwhile, Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir picked two wickets each.

In reply, Guyana chased the set target quite easily with nine wickets and six overs to spare. Saim Ayub (52) was the standout performer with the bat and finished the innings with a six to guide Guyana Amazon Warriors to their maiden CPL title.
