This year’s CPL edition will be hosted by four countries. Guyana has also entered into a three-year agreement with CPL organizers.

The 2022 Caribbean Premier League is all set to take place from August 30th to September 30th. In the last two terms it has been held in a single country. Namely Trinidad and Tobago for 2020 and St Kitts and Nevis for 20221.

However, this year’s edition will be hosted by four countries. The league stage matches will be played in Trinidad and Tobago, St Kitts and Nevis and Saint Lucia, with seven team matches and knockout matches in Guyana.

Guyana has also entered into a three-year agreement with CPL organizers to hold the finals of the tournament until 2024. Lorine Charles st Jules, CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, said the tournament was a great opportunity to return to the country.

“We are delighted to be one of the venues for CPL this year. The pandemic limited major sporting events across the world so to be able to welcome back a prestigious tournament such as this means a lot to us. This event is full of opportunities. It’s a chance to enjoy the brilliant sportsmanship that you see on the cricket field and it’s an opportunity to come together and enjoy our Saint Lucian hospitality.”

Mr. Shamfa Cudjoe of Trinidad and Tobago also said that all safe practices related to Covid 19 would continue.

“Live spectators are an essential element of sport, so fans are welcomed to return to the stands in support of their teams and favorite players. In T&T we continue to champion safe practices while having fun as all Covid-19 protocols would be adhered to during the games.”
