Tagenarine Chanderpaul West Indies, son of former West Indies cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul, has made his debut in the first Test match being played against Australia.

Lara, who batted with his father Shivnarine Chanderpaul when he debuted in 1994, was there to mark the moment. Therefore, Debut cap was given by Brian Lara, former great legend of West Indies Cricket.

Both Brian Lara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul played cricket together and made many records together for West Indies cricket.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul was at the crease with Lara when he broke Sir Garry Sobers’ record for the highest Test match score later in the series against England in 1994.

The 26-year-old was selected for his maiden Test cap against Australia at Perth after scoring heavily in the 2022 first-class season.

Chanderpaul, who has averaged 34.21 in 50 first-class matches, totaled 439 runs with two centuries during the 2022 West Indies championship.

He also notched 119 and a half-century against the Prime Minister’s XI last week in a trial match in Canberra.
