Since the Indian team is locking horns against West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad, marking the 100th Test between the two teams, former India legend Sunil Gavaskar was felicitated by the Queen’s Park Cricket Club.
Gavaskar shared a video and picture being felicitated and was snapped with West Indies legend Brian Lara. Gavaskar took to his social media handle and posted it with a caption.
“With the ‘Prince of Trinidad’, Brian Lara, and Nigel Camacho, president of QPCC, after the lovely felicitation by Queens Park Cricket Club in Trinidad. My home away from home.
Much love and gratitude to my West Indian fans,” Gavaskar wrote. The award was given to ‘The Little Master’ during the match. Gavaskar was handed a memento and the Indian legend was given a plaque by the Queen’s Park Cricket Club.
Gavaskar has been the highest scorer in Tests between India and West Indies. The legend has amassed 2749 runs in 27 Tests at an average of around 65. He has scored 13 centuries and 7 fifties against West Indies. Gavaskar scored an unbeaten 236 against the Caribbean team, which is his highest score in Tests, that came in 1983 in Chennai.
