Test specialist Shivnarine Chanderpaul remained the torch-bearer of the West Indies team throughout his iconic red-ball career in the international arena.

When the mighty Australian cricket team toured the Caribbean in 2008, Chanderpaul was at the forefront of the Windies’ batting lineup as the veteran batsman turned out to be the highest scorer in the bilateral series between the West Indies and the Baggy Greens.

Chanderpaul also shared an intense rivalry with pace ace Brett Lee and the premier batsman almost experienced a Scary experience at the pitch!

The West Indies batting icon took a nasty blow at the back of his head in the 1st Test of the bilateral series at Kingston.

Lee had bowled a vicious bouncer which Chanderpaul tried to duck although the ball struck him at the back of the head.

Yes, Chanderpaul was shot down by the menacing delivery bowled by the Australian fast bowler at the time.
