“We would have liked for him to play more games for West Indies” – Darren Bravo on “King” Sunil’s last T&T match is for the Super50 Cup

Skipper Darren Bravo has paid tribute to his friend and teammate Sunil Narine, who is set to play his final List A match for T&T Red Force in the Super50 final against the Leeward Islands on Saturday at Tarouba.

T&T beat Guyana by six wickets while Leeward Islands beat Barbados by 115 runs to get into the final at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Narine announced his retirement from international cricket last Sunday and also said the Super50 tournament would be his last for T&T.

The Arima-born off-spinner, 35, said he wanted to sign off from T&T Red Force cricket with a victory.

Bravo was asked to assess the contribution of Narine to T&T and West Indies cricket.

“He would have contributed tremendously to Trinidad and Tobago, and by extension, West Indies cricket. He will be missed. We would have liked for him to play more games for West Indies as we know that would have been beneficial to Caribbean people,” Bravo told CWI Media.
